Elevate drooping brows and smooth forehead lines with a tailored brow lift. This minimally invasive procedure enhances eye expression and opens up the upper face, helping you look more alert and refreshed.
Form MD Plastic Surgery offers the brow lift to patients who would like to raise their eyebrows and minimize the horizontal creases across the forehead and nose and the vertical lines between the eyebrows.
Also called a forehead lift, a brow lift is a surgical procedure that addresses the forehead and eyebrow area that has descended as a result of aging. A youthful brow is typically located above the orbital rim bone.
What You Can Expect
Reverse visible signs of aging with the best facelift in Orange County. This procedure lifts and tightens facial tissue to address sagging skin and deep creases, delivering natural-looking, resilient results.
After the procedure, most patients see improvement in the cheeks, jawline jowling, and neckline.
The term “face lift” refers to the lower half of the face, while the eyes, brow, and forehead areas are addressed in a separate procedure.
There are many different ways to perform a brow lift. Whichever technique is used, the procedure raises skin, soft tissue, and muscle to the underlying bone at the level of the orbital rim. The procedure also weakens the muscles between the eyes in the glabella region (very commonly treated with Botox). This allows the surgeon to reposition the brow and forehead tissue and achieve the desired effect.
Our team prefers the endoscopic or minimally invasive brow lift. This approach requires placing five short incisions well behind the hairline to give the surgeon access to the forehead and brow, and allow him to move or reposition the tissue and skin as necessary.
Once the brow repositioning sutures have been placed, they are anchored higher up into the bone on the forehead and used to suspend the brows in a naturally arched position. The incisions are entirely hidden behind the hairline, meaning patients won’t have any visible scars on their forehead.
The brow lift may also be done by placing the incision in front of the hairline to allow the surgeon to remove underlying skin and tissue, and directly raise the brows. This approach is best for patients with a long forehead or a receding hairline. The surgeon will take care to angle the incision with the hair follicles so that the scar fades away and is well hidden.
Another technique that may be used to perform a brow lift is to directly remove the skin and underlying tissue directly above the eyebrow. The incisions are placed on the upper border of the eyebrow hair and the scar fades. This approach is commonly used in men or in cases where incisions higher up on the forehead are not ideal.
